Tech Football Tops Willmar 28-13 [AUDIO]

The St. Cloud Tech football team downed Willmar 28-13 Wednesday night in the final night of the regular season.  The Tigers and Cardinals were tied at 7 apiece at halftime.  Willmar scored the first 2nd half touchdown but missed the extra point before Tech scored 3 unanswered touchdowns to come away with the win.

Chris Backes ran for 111 yards on 20 carries and 3 touchdowns and threw for 148 yards for Tech.  Jake Martig had 5 catches for 90 yards and a rushing touchdown for the Tigers.  Augustine Hahn ran for a pair of touchdowns for Wilmar.

Tech is 3-5 overall and will open the Section 8-5-A playoffs at Alexandria Tuesday night at 7pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:40.  Willmar falls to 3-5.
