The #5 (15-2-1) Alexandria Cardinals defeated the (5-13-1) St. Cloud Tech Tigers 4-1 Tuesday evening, despite a pesky effort from Tech. Lukas Bigger & Ryan Marciniak scored within 22 seconds of each other to give Alexandria a 2-0 lead after the 1st period.

In the 2nd period, St. Cloud Tech cut the deficit in half at the 8:54 mark when junior, Kaleb Woodman's goal made it a 2-1 game. Tech received consistent play from goaltender Jake Berger too, who made 20 saves through the first two periods.

Despite playing the Central Lakes leaders tough, Max Strong's 3rd period goal and a late empty-netter sealed the deal for the Cardinals and the Tigers fell by a final of 4-1. With the loss, the Tigers are 5-14-2 and faceoff with the (13-3-2) St. Cloud Apollo Eagles, Thursday evening at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
