The St. Cloud State men's basketball team got some good news Wednesday when senior center Tim Bergstrasser was cleared to work out with no restrictions with the team. Bergstrasser is coming back from a torn ACL in his left knee.

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team won their opening round game of the NCAA Division II tournament 77-72 over Bemidji State Saturday. Tim Bergstrasser had 22 points and 7 rebounds and Shaun Jensen had 14 points for the Huskies. SCSU outrebounded Bemidji State 36-22.

The St. Cloud State men's and women's basketball team both won close games against Minnesota State-Mankato Friday night at Halenbeck Hall. The SCSU men got a putback basket from Tim Bergstrasser to complete their comeback. SCSU trailed by 13 points with 7:46 left in the game. Brett Putz led the Huskies with 22 points.

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team defeated Wayne State 64-47 after the SCSU women's basketball team suffered a tough 59-50 loss to #8 Wayne State at Halenbeck Hall Tuesday night. The SCSU shot 40 percent from the field while holding Wayne State to 29 percent. Tim Bergstrasser led the Huskies with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Connor Niehaus added 11 points for the Huskies.

The St. Cloud State men's and women's basketball teams swept Concordia-St. Paul in St. Paul Saturday afternoon. The SCSU women won 68-45 before the men won 84-73. The SCSU women were led by Amanda Wagner with 19 points. St. Cloud State is 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the NSIC.
