Vikings Release Hutchinson, Herrera and Griffin

The Vikings released guards Steve Huchinson and Anthony Herrera and cornerback Cedric Griffin Saturday. Hutchinson was scheduled to make $7 Million this season, Herrera $2.7 Million and Griffin about $3 Million. The Vikings will have $23 to $24 Million available when free agency begins Tuesday afternoon at 3pm.

Vikings To Play Without Hutchinson and Asher Allen

The Vikings will play without starting left guard Steve Hutchinson and starting cornerback Asher Allen Saturday at Washington. Both players haven't practiced all week because of a concussion suffered against the Saints Sunday. Hutchinson and Asher Allen are listed as "out" on the injury report.

Vikings Have To Fix Offensive Line

The Vikings took a step in the right direction releasing left tackle Bryant McKinnie earlier this month. The bad thing is new left tackle Charlie Johnson doesn't appear to be a stellar replacement. The Vikings offensive line against Tennessee looked bad throughout the game. Steve Hutchinson doesn't appear to be the same player he has been, Phil Loadholt still struggles against the pass rush, John Sullivan get pushed back into the quarterback too often and we don't know if Anthony Herrera will be healthy enough to hold down the right guard spot.
