The St. Cloud State men's basketball team is ranked #24 this week in the NABC Division II men's college basketball poll this week. SCSU split a pair of games against #3 Winona State and Upper Iowa last weekend. The Huskies lost to Winona State by 10 but beat Upper Iowa by 3.

SCSU Basketball Tops St. John’s

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team defeated St. John's 67-58 Friday night as part of the Hoopster Classic at Halenbeck Hall. Apollo graduate Tim Bergstrasser led the Huskies with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Brett Putz added 12 points for St. Cloud State. Andy Burns led St. John's with 17 points. SCSU outrebounded St. John's 37-23. SCSU is 2-0 on the season while St. John's drops to 0-1.

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team won their season opener 74-56 Sunday night. Theo Rothstein led the Huskies with 15 points and Tim Bergstrasser added 10 points and 10 rebounds for St. Cloud State.

SCSU Hires Men’s Basketball Assistant

St. Cloud State has announced the hiring of Dan DeWitt as an assistant coach in its men's basketball program. He replaces Andy Cone who left to become the head men's basketball coach at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. DeWitt is a Northern State graduate where he played basketball for Don Meyer and in 4 years at Northern State led them to a record of 98-27.

SCSU Basketball Signs A Pair

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team signed 2 players to NSIC and National Letters of Intent. The Huskies signed 6'7 190 pound forward Jon Christensen of Lakeville South and 6'7 210 pound forward Connor Neihaus of Fremont, Nebraska. Christensen averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds a game his senior season at Lakeville South. Neihaus averaged 15 points and 13 rebounds at Fremont, Nebraska. SCSU finished 15-14 overall in 2010-2011.

SCSU Basketball Loses Bucholz

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team is losing 6'8 230 pound center Ben Bucholz. Bucholz is leaving SCSU to pursue football. The Perham native averaged 6.1 points and 5.6 rebounds a game as a freshman this past season. Bucholz was recruited by North Dakota State and North Dakota to play football before deciding to play basketball at SCSU.

SCSU Men’s Basketball Wins; SCSU Women Fall

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team routed Mn-Duluth Saturday night 94-74 at Halenbeck Hall. SCSU led 62-34 at halftime and weren't threatened in the 2nd half. SCSU shot 58 percent from the field for the game and made 13-20 from 3-point range.

SCSU’s Bernstetter Earns Honor

St. Cloud State forward Andrew Bernstetter is the NSIC player of the week this week. He scored 35 points and added 9 rebounds in a win for SCSU over Upper Iowa Saturday and he scored 29 points and added 14 rebounds in a loss to Winona State Sunday.

The St. Cloud State men's basketball team lost 93-91 in overtime Sunday afternoon. Ben Fischer scored the game-winner with .5 seconds left in overtime.

Wayne State beat the St. Cloud State men's basketball 69-53 Tuesday night. Taylor Witt led the Huskies with 17 points and Andrew Bernstetter added 10 points.
