The St. Cloud River Bats defeated Mankato 6-4 Wednesday night in their first game back after the Northwoods League All Star break. St. Cloud scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and added 3 runs in the 9th inning. Andy Henkemeyer went 4-6 with a run scored, Derek Campbell added 2 hits and 3 RBIs and Michael Williams had 2 hits and 2 runs scored for St. Cloud. Jon Richard threw 6 innings with 2 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win for the Bats.
North Beats South In NWL All Star Game
The North beat the South 6-3 in the Northwoods League All Star game in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin Monday night. Dan Olinger of Brainerd had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI for the North. Andy Henkemeyer of the River Bats went 1-2 batting for the North and Mitch Garver did not play.
2 River Bats Play In NWL All Star Game Tonight
The Northwoods League All Star game will be played tonight at Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin at 7:05pm. Two St. Cloud River Bats will play for the North Division team tonight. The two are catcher Mitchell Garver and outfielder Andy Henkemeyer. Garver is hitting .290 with 4 homeruns and 21 RBIs and Henkemeyer is hitting .313 with no homeruns and 24 RBIs for the Bats this season.
River Bats Top Honkers In Rochester
The St. Cloud River Bats ended a 2-game losing streak with an 8-5 win at Rochester against the Honkers Thursday night. Kyle Stiner went 2-4 with a run scored and 3 RBIs, and Derek Campbell went 2-4 with 2 runs scored with 1 RBI. Bryan Peters threw 2 innings with 1 earned run allowed to get the win in relief.
Rochester Beats River Bats 3-2
The St. Cloud River Bats lost their 2nd straight game 3-2 at Rochester Wednesday night. Rochester took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning and held on to win. Carlos Lopez had a RBI double and St. Cloud had just 2 hits for the Bats. Zach Hirsch threw 6 innings with 8 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to take the loss.
River Bats Lose To Honkers
The St. Cloud River Bats lost 10-9 at Rochester Tuesday afternoon. Rochester scored 5 first inning runs and held on to win. Carol Lopez was 3-4 with a homerun and 4 RBIs, Ronald Sucre had a homerun and 3 RBIs and Bryan Haar had a solo homerun for the Bats. Jake Smith allowed 6 hits and 7 earned runs in 5 innings to take the loss for St. Cloud.
