Trevor Plouffe went 3-4 with a run scored, Josh Willingham had 2 hits, a run and 1 RBI and Brian Dozier went 2-3 with a run scored for the Twins.

The Twins lost 6-0 at Chicago against the White Sox Wednesday night. Chris Sale threw 7 shutout innings with 2 hits allowed and 6 strikeouts for the White Sox. Alex Rios and Paul Konerko each hit homeruns for the White Sox. Scott Diamond allowed 9 hits and 5 runs (2 earned) in 6 innings to take the loss and drop to 3-1. The Twins committed 3 errors behind Diamond. Joe Mauer was 1-2 with 2 walks for the Twins.

The Twins downed Toronto 4-3 Sunday afternoon at Target Field. Scott Diamond threw 7 shutout innings with 5 hits allowed, no walks and had 4 strikeouts to get the win and improve to 2-0. Diamond has thrown 14 shutout innings since he's been called up from triple-A. Jared Burton struggled for the Twins allowing 3 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. Glen Perkins recorded the final 2 outs of the 8th inning. Matt Capps threw a scoreless 9th inning to grab his 7th save.

The Twins blanked the Los Angeles Angles 5-0 Tuesday night to snap a 3-game losing streak. Scott Diamond threw 7 shutout innings with 4 hits and 1 walk allowed with 6 strikeouts to get the win. Ryan Doumit hit a 2-run homerun and Brian Dozier was 2-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI for the Twins. Dan Haren allowed 8 hits and 5 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss for L.A.

The Detroit Tigers beat the Twins 2-1 Sunday afternoon to complete a 3-game sweep. Doug Fister threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed to get the win for Detroit. Scott Diamond allowed 7 hits and 1 earned run in 6 innings to take the loss for the Twins. Minnesota managed just 4 hits with both Chris Parmelee and Joe Benson each going 1-3.

The Twins were swept in the day/night doubleheader by the Chicago White Sox Monday. The White Sox won 2-1 in the afternoon and 4-0 at night. Anthony Swarzak threw 8 innings with 7 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 3-6. Former Twin Phil Humber threw 7 shutout innings with 6 hits allowed to get the win.

The Twins lost both games in a day/night doubleheader Monday against Cleveland at Target Field. Cleveland won the first game 5-2. Asdrubal Cabrera hit a 3-run homerun and David Huff threw 7 shutout innings with 5 hits allowed to get the win for Cleveland. Anthony Swarzak allowed 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 6 innings to take the loss. Michael Cuddyer hit a 2-run homerun for the Twins. Cleveland won the nightcap over the Twins 6-3.

The Twins play a day/night doubleheader today against Cleveland at Target Field to make up for a previous rainout. The series is now a 4-game series. The Twins defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 Monday afternoon in their final exhibition game in Florida this season. Danny Lehmann had a walk-off single in the 9th inning to plate the winning run. Francisco Liriano threw 6 innings with 4 hits and 3 earned runs allowed for Minnesota. The Twins are 19-11 and will play at Atlanta at 6:05 tonight, pregame on WJON at 6:00.
