Remi Ayodele

The Vikings have signed free agent offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz. Terms of his deal were not announced. The 25-year old Schwartz spent his first 3 seasons with Carolina. He made 19 starts in his first 2 seasons but missed all of last season with a hip injury. He's expected to compete with Joe Berger for the starting right guard position for the Vikings.

The Vikings released safety Madieu Williams, defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and receiver Freddie Brown Thursday. Williams was due to make $5.5 Million this season and hasn't lived up to expectations. Kennedy and Brown were expected to be released. The Vikings did not release receiver Bernard Berrian yet.

The Vikings reportedly agreed to sign defensive tackle Remi Ayodele to a contract. Ayodele is 6'2 318 pounds and played all 16 games for the New Orleans Saints in 2010. He had 37 total tackles and 1 sack. Ayodele is 28 years old.
