The Twins lost 2-1 in their final home game of the season Sunday afternoon to the Detroit Tigers. Prince Fielder hit a 2-run homerun in the 8th inning off Jared Burton to lift the Tigers to the win. Pedro Florimon had a RBI single in the 7th inning to break the scoreless tie at the time. Joe Mauer was 3-4 and is now just 2 points back of Miguel Cabrera for the American League batting title. Mauer is hitting .323 while Cabrera is hitting .325.
Twins Edge Cleveland in 12 Innings
The Twins scored 2 12th inning runs to win at Cleveland Tuesday night. Alexi Casilla and Pedro Florimon each had RBI singles in Minnesota's 2-run 12th. Tyler Robertson threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Glen Perkins threw the 12th innings with 1 earned run allowed to get the save. Joe Mauer went 3-4 with 1 RBI and is batting .325. Denard Span went 3-6 with 2 runs scored for the Twins. P.J. Walters threw 5 innings with 8 hits and 2 earned runs allowed.
