The Chicago White Sox downed the Minnesota Twins 3-2 Tuesday night. Gavin Floyd threw 7 shutout innings with 5 hits allowed and 9 strikeouts to get the win. Jamey Carroll had a 2-run single in Minnesota's 2-run 9th inning but Denard Span grounded out to 2nd base to end the game. Liam Hendriks thew 6 1/3 innings with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-5. Alex Rios hit a 2-run homerun off Hendriks.

Twins, Liriano Beat White Sox 4-1

The Twins won 4-1 at home against the Chicago White Sox Monday night. Francisco Liriano threw 7 innings with 4 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win and improve to 2-7. Minnesota scored 1 run in the 1st inning and added 2 more runs in the 2nd. Joe Mauer was 3-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Ben Revere was 4-5 for Minnesota. Mauer is hitting .323 while Revere is now hitting .331. Jared Burton threw a scoreless 9th inning to get his 2nd save in as many days.

The Twins came from behind Sunday afternoon to beat the Reds 4-3. Josh Willingham hit a 2-run homerun off Aroldis Chapman in the 9th inning to turn a 3-2 deficit to a 4-3 lead. Trevor Plouffe hit a solo homerun and Joe Mauer was 2-4 with a run scored for Minnesota. Scott Diamond threw 8 innings with 8 hits and 3 earned runs to get the win and improve to 6-3. Jared Burton threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save.

Reds Blank Twins; Mauer Returns

The Twins lost 6-0 in Cincinnati to the Reds Saturday afternoon. Johnny Cueto threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed and 9 strikeouts for the win for the Reds. Brian Duensing made the start for the Twins and allowed 4 hits and 4 earned runs in 3 innings to take the loss. The start was the first this season for Duensing.
