The Minnesota Lynx downed San Antonio 83-79 Sunday night to improve to 7-0. The Lynx led 50-29 at halftime but allowing the Silverstars to come back. Rebekkah Brunson and Maya Moore each scored 17 points and Lindsay Whalen added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the Lynx. Minnesota shot 53 percent from the field and San Antonio shot 37 percent. Minnesota committed 13 turnovers compared to 7 for the Silver Stars.

Lynx, Whalen Sneak By Washington

The Minnesota Lynx got a put back basket from Lindsay Whalen with 1 second left and Minnesota wins 79-77 at Washington Wednesday night to improve to 5-0. Maya Moore and Rebekkah Brunson each scored 16 points to lead the Lynx and Seimone Augustus added 15 points for Minnesota.

Lynx Down Sparks to Improve to 3-0

The Minnesota Lynx downed the L.A. Sparks 92-84 to improve to 3-0. Seimone Augustus led the Lynx with 25 points, Rebekkah Brunson added 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Lindsay Whalen chipped in 14 points. Minnesota shot 53 percent from the field while L.A. shot 49 percent.

Lynx Win Season Opener Over Phoenix

The Minnesota Lynx defeated Phoenix 105-83 Sunday afternoon in their season opener. The Lynx received their WNBA championship rings before the game in a ceremony. Seimone Augustus led the Lynx with 19 points, Monica Wright added 15 points and both Lindsay Whalen and Maya Moore had 13 points apiece.

Lynx Draft Peters #3 Overall

The Minnesota Lynx drafted 6 players in the WNBA draft Monday. Their first selection was 3rd overall, 6'2 power forward Devereaux Peters from Notre Dame. Minnesota also picked 6'4 19-year old center Damiris Dantas from Brazil with the 12th overall pick in the first round. The Lynx made 3 2nd round picks, 6'0 forward Julie Wojta from UW-Green Bay, 6'2 forward Kayla Standish from Gonzaga, and 5'7 guard Nika Baric from Slovenia. The Lynx also picked 6'0 guard Jacki Gemelos from USC.

The Minnesota Lynx have re-signed 41-year old center Taj McWilliams-Franklin. McWilliams-Franklin averaged 8.3 points and 6.0 rebounds a game in 2011. She averaged 10.6 points a game during the Lynx playoff run.

The Minnesota Lynx celebrated their first WNBA title with a parade and program inside Target Center Tuesday afternoon. Approximately 15,000 fans joined in the celebration. The Lynx swept Atlanta in 3 games in the WNBA Finals with the clinching game coming last Friday night in Atlanta.

The Minnesota Lynx came from down 4 points at halftime to defeat the Atlanta Dream in Atlanta 73-67 Friday night to win their first WNBA title 3 games to none. The Lynx outscored the Dream 19-8 in the 3rd quarter. Seimone Augustus led the team with 16 points and Maya Moore added 15 for the Lynx.

The Minnesota Lynx can win the WNBA title tonight if they win at Atlanta in game 3 of the WNBA finals at 7pm. See it on ESPN2. Minnesota leads the best of 5 series 2 games to none. The Lynx won both games at Target Center on Sunday and Wednesday nights.
