Twins’ Mauer Not Ready Yet
Twins Get Good News On Mauer
Twins' catcher Joe Mauer is feeling better this weekend after needing to be hospitalized Thursday night. Mauer has been fighting flu-like symptoms and after going to a doctor Friday it was determined that Mauer has a viral infection and that infection was causing his bilateral leg weakness. Mauer must remain on the disabled list until April 28 but the Twins expect him to return on April 28.
Twins Will Be Hurting Without Mauer
The Twins are going to miss Joe Mauer while he's on the disabled list. With Mauer out a combination of Drew Butera and Steve Holm will be the catchers. Neither Butera nor Holm are capable major league hitters and the Twins don't have better hitting option like they did last year. When Mauer got hurt last year the Twins called up the Twins turned to Wilson Ramos and in past year's had the option of going with Jose Morales.

Twins Rally Past Yankees 5-4 In 10 Innings
The Twins came from down 4-0 to beat the Yankees in New York 5-4 in 10 innings Tuesday night. Minnesota scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to force extra innings when Joe Mauer singled in Denard Span with the go-ahead run in the 10th inning. Delmon Young cleared the bases in the 8th inning with a double after Joe Mauer worked out a bases loaded walk to plate the first run.

Twins Beat Pirates 4-1; Mauer Has 2 Hits
The Twins beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1 Monday afternoon in Bradenton, Florida. Joe Mauer went 2-3 with 1 RBI and both Matt Tolbert and Delmon Young were 2-3. Brian Duensing threw 5 innings with 3 hits and 1 unearned run to get the win and improve to 3-0 this spring. The Twins are 13-10 this spring and will play the Florida Marlins at 12:05 today in Jupiter, Florida.
Twins Beat Mets 4-3; Mauer Plays
Twins beat the New York Mets 4-3 in exhibition play in Fort Myers, Florida Wednesday afternoon. Joe Mauer made his exhibition debut and went 1-3 as the designated hitter. Danny Valencia went 2-2 with a run scored, Denard Span hit a solo homerun and Justin Morneau 0-3 playing first base.
Twins’ Mauer Wants To Stay Healthy; Nathan Throws Bullpen Session
Twins catcher Joe Mauer at Twinfest this weekend said his top goal in 2011 is to stay healthy. Mauer wants to stay fresh throughout the summer. He had minor surgery in December and says he's ready for spring training to begin. Twins' closer Joe Nathan is coming back from Tommy John surgery and threw a bullpen session Saturday.
