Green Bay 35 – Chicago 21 Aaron Rodgers threw for 283 yards and five touchdowns, and the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears 35-21 on Christmas night. With the victory, Green Bay (14-1) clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC title game. Chicago (7-8) was eliminated from playoff contention with the loss, which subsequently guaranteed Atlanta a playoff spot. The Falcons play Monday night against New Orleans. Rodgers’ second touchdown pass of the game, a 2-yarder to James Jones just before halftime, gave the Packers a 14-3 lead at the break. The Bears pulled within 14-10 in the third quarter when offensive lineman Edwin Williams recovered a fumble by Chicago running back Kahlil Bell in the end zone.

It was a great weekend for road teams in the NFL, as many came out victorious. Green Bay lost its perfect season, and Indianapolis finally recorded a victory in 2011, while three more AFC teams gained playoff spots. Here’s a recap of all the weekend’s games:

Green Bay 38 – N.Y. Giants 35 Aaron Rodgers led a 68-yard drive that set up Mason Crosby’s game-winning, 31-yard field goal as time expired, as the Green Bay Packers beat the New York Giants 38-35 to remain undefeated. The Packers’ march downfield came after New York (6-6) tied the game on the preceding drive after Eli Manning threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Hakeem Nicks, and D.J. Ware ran for the two-point conversion.

Green Bay 27 – Detroit 15 Aaron Rodgers threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, and the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions 27-15 on Thanksgiving Day. The Packers (11-0) remained unbeaten in part by intercepting Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford three times and turning those turnovers into 17 points. Detroit (7-4) tried to intimidate Green Bay’s offense and rough up Rodgers, but that strategy only resulted in personal foul calls and the ejection of Ndamukong Suh after he stomped on offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions – 12:30 PM In a key NFC North game, Detroit (7-3) plays host to the undefeated Packers (10-0). With an NFL-best quarterback rating of 128.8, Aaron Rodgers is the leader of Green Bay’s offensive attack, which averages a league-best 35.5 points per game. Rodgers throws to Jordy Nelson when he needs points. Nelson’s nine touchdown catches are second in the NFL to Detroit’s Calvin Johnson, who has 11.

I had the opportunity Monday to go and watch our beloved Vikings take on the the Division rival Packers in the belly of the beast that is Lambeau Field. And, while the Vikes put up little defense as Aaron Rodgers and company dismantled the Vikings, one thing was clear....we need a stadium in Arden Hills.

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 Sunday night to win Super Bowl 45 in Arlington, Texas. Aaron Rodgers threw for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns and Jordy Nelson led the Packers with 9 catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.

It was their 100th meeting on the field.  A meeting better left forgotten.
