The Gopher men's basketball team lost 75-67 at Florida State last night to suffer their first loss of the season. Minnesota led by 2 at halftime but the Seminoles ran out to a quick double digit lead in the 2nd half while the Gophers battled foul trouble.

The Gopher men's basketball team topped Lousiana-Lafayette 86-74 tonight to win their season opener. The Gophers led 48-26 at halftime and were outscored 48-38 in the 2nd half.

The Gopher men's basketball team lost 62-49 at home on Senior Night to Wisconsin last night. Minnesota trailed by 16 at hafltime and got as close as 11 in the 2nd half.

The Gopher men's basketball team ended their 3-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 70-52 win at home over Chicago State. Minnesota led by 8 at halftime. The Gophers were led in scoring by Carlos Morris and Charles Buggs with 14 points apiece and Jordan Murphy added 12 points and 18 rebounds.

The Gopher men's basketball team lost 81-68 in the consolation championship game at the Puerto Rico Tip-off Classic Sunday afternoon. Minnesota committed 26 fouls and were led in scoring by Carlos Morris and Joey King with 15 points apiece.

The Gopher men's basketball team defeated Missouri State Friday morning to advance to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic consolation championship. The final score was 74-69. Minnesota led by double figures for much of the game until Missouri State made a run in the 2nd half.

The Gopher men's basketball team defeated Louisiana-Monroe 67-56 Sunday at Williams Arena. Minnesota trailed by 1 with 7 minutes left but rallied to improve to 2-0 on the season. Joey King led the Gophers with 20 points, Nate Mason added 12 points and freshman Kevin Dorsey chipped in 11 points.

The Gopher men's basketball teams signed 3 players to National Letters of Intent. Two of the 3 are from Minnesota which include 6'7 guard Amir Coffey from Hopkins, and 6'6 forward Michael Hurt from Rochester John Marshall. The other signing is 6'8 power forward Eric Curry from Little Rock, Arkansas.

The University of Minnesota Men's basketball program has received another verbal commitment. This time from 6'7 210 pound stretch power forward Eric Curry from Southwest Christian Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Gopher men's basketball team has added 6'6 190 pound small forward Ahmad Gilbert from Philadelphia. Gilbert verbally committed Thursday. He is a 3-star recruit according to rivals.com and espn.
