Ponder Misses Practice Again; Peterson Returns
Viking quarterback Christian Ponder missed practice for a 2nd straight day Thursday with a hip pointer injury while running back Adrian Peterson returned to practice with a high ankle sprain in his left ankle. Ponder still hopes to play and will need to practice in some capacity today. Peterson had missed the last 2 games games with a high ankle sprain and was limited in practice Thursday.
Vikings’ Ponder and Peterson Don’t Practice
Viking quarterback Christian Ponder and running back Adrian Peterson both missed practice Wednesday with injuries and are questionable to play this Sunday at Detroit. Ponder his a hip pointer but expects to play Sunday. He could be limited in practice the rest of the week. Peterson says he's "70 percent" after missing 2 games with a high ankle sprain in his left ankle. He hopes to play Sunday and may try and practice today.
Vikings’ Ponder Has Hip Pointer
Viking quarterback Christian Ponder sustained a hip pointer injury Sunday after taking numerous hits against Denver Sunday. Head coach Leslie Frazier announced the injury to Ponder at his Monday press conference and said he is concerned about Ponder but the trainers say Ponder should be fine to play Sunday at Detroit. Ponder is likely to be limited in practice this week.
Broncos Edge Vikings 35-32
The Denver Broncos beat the Vikings 35-32 Sunday afternoon at Mall of America Field. Christian Ponder threw 2 interceptions with his 2nd allowing the Broncos to setup the game-winning field goal as time expired. Ponder was 29-47 passing for 381 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.
Falcons Beat Vikings 24-14
The Vikings lost 24-14 at Atlanta to the Falcons Sunday afternoon to fall to 2-9 on the season. Minnesota fell behind 17-0 before coming back to cut the lead to 17-14 but Minnesota would get no closer. Matt Ryan threw for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Falcons and Christian Ponder was 17-25 passing for 186 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions.
Raiders Edge Vikings 27-21
The Vikings lost 27-21 at home to the Oakland Raiders Sunday afternoon at Mall of America Field. Minnesota fell behind 24-7 but scored 14 4th quarter points to make the game interesting. Christian Ponder was 19-33 passing for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions and he ran for 71 yards to lead the team. Percy Harvin led the team with 6 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Packers Pound Vikings 45-7
The Vikings lost 45-7 at Green Bay against the Packers Monday night. Minnesota trailed 17-0 at halftime and the game got away from the Vikings in the 2nd half. Aaron Rodgers threw for 250 yards and 4 touchdowns for Green Bay. Christian Ponder was 16-34 passing for 190 yards with no touchdowns and 1 interception.
Vikings Play Packers At Lambeau Tonight
The Vikings play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay at 7:30pm tonight, pregame on WJON at 6:30. The Vikings are 2-6 and have had a 15-day layoff because of a bye week week 9. Green Bay is 8-0. Minnesota lost to Green Bay 33-27 at Mall of America Field October 23 in rookie Christian Ponder's first start.
