Christian Ponder was 8-17 passing for 58 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions for Minnesota. Harrison Smith capped the Viking scoring with a 31-yard interception return touchdown.

The Vikings lost 38-26 at Washington to the Redskins Sunday afternoon. Robert Griffin III secured the win by reeling off a 76-yard touchdown run with 2:43 left. The Vikings took a 9-0 lead but trailed 17-9 at halftime. Washington went out to a 30-12 lead before Minnesota mounted a comeback. The Vikings got as close as 30-26 before Griffin scored on the long touchdown run.

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen didn't practice Wednesday due to a groin injury but the Viking believe Allen can play Sunday against Tennessee. Others that didn't practice include; receiver Michael Jenkins (ribs), safety Mistral Raymond (ankle) and safety Andrew Sendejo (ankle). The Vikings improved to 2-1 Sunday with a stunning 24-13 win at home against the previously San Francisco 49ers. Minnesota jumped out to a 17-3 haltime lead and never trailed. The Vikings nearly gave away a game that appeared to be theirs with just seconds left when Blaine Gabbert threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts with :20 left. Viking quarterback Christian Ponder completed a pair of passes setting up kicker Blair Walsh for a 55-yard field goal. Walsh made the kick and made a 38-yard field goal in overtime that turned out to be the game-winner. Jacksonville got the ball once in overtime with the new overtime rule but were unable to score.

San Diego made 4 field goals including Nick Novak's 45-yard game-winner as time expired to win the game.

The Vikings routed the Buffalo Bills 36-14 Friday night at Mall of America Field. Christian Ponder was 10-13 passing for 136 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions. His one touchdown pass was to Jerome Felton from 1-yard out. Emanuel Arceneaux had 2 catches for 50 yards and Jerome Simpson had 3 catches for 43 yards for Minnesota. The Vikings are expected to play their starters into the 2nd quarter including Percy Harvin, Jared Allen, Antoine Winfield and Kevin Williams.
