The Vikings have reportedly released receiver Bernard Berrian. The 30-year old veteran has just 7 catches for 91 yards this season and has been inactive for 2 of the last 3 weeks. Berrian has spent the last 3 seasons with the Vikings. His best season in Minnesota was his first in 2008 when he had 48 catches for 964 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Viking backup quarterback Donovan McNabb disputed claims that he was late for practices and didn't take time to learn the Viking playbook. The claims were made by NFL Network. McNabb and Viking head coach Leslie Frazier said those reports are incorrect.

Berrian Still A Viking After Meeting With Frazier

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier met with receiver Bernard Berrian today after Berrian was inactive Sunday despite being healthy enough to play. Frazier would not indicate why Berrian was inactive Sunday either after the game or during his press conference Monday. He did say he needed to talk with Berrian and get on the same page with him. Berrian is expected to meet with Frazier again Tuesday.

The Vikings restructured the contract of receiver Bernard Berrian Monday. He was scheduled to make $6.3 Million this season. It's unclear what is salary now looks like. Berrian struggled last season with just 28 receptions for 252 yards and no touchdowns. Berrian is 30 years old and has 2 years left on his restructured contract.

Berrian was signed to a big contract 3 years ago but his statistics have gone down each year he's been here while is salary has gone up. He is due to make more than $6 Million this season. The Vikings didn't re-sign free agent receiver Sidney Rice but could still improve their receiving corp by signing 1 or more of the following free agents: Braylon Edwards (Jets), Malcolm Floyd (Chargers), or James Jones (Packers).

The nine are running backs Derrick Locke of Kentucky and Matt Asiata of Utah, receivers Andre Holmes of Hillsdale College and Dominque Johnson of Cal Poly, tight end Allen Reisner of Iowa, kicker Nate Whitaker of Stanford, guard Conan Amituanai of Arizona, linebacker Larry Dean of Valdosta State, and defensive back Devon Torrence of Ohio State.
