Alex Smith completed 18 of 19 pass attempts for 232 yards and three touchdowns, and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals, 24-3, in Arizona on Monday night. San Francisco (6-2) led 17-0 at halftime on the strength of two scoring passes from Smith to Michael Crabtree. Smith connected with Randy Moss on a 47-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter. The 49ers coasted the rest of the way, allowing Arizona (4-4) just a 28-yard Jay Feely field goal prior to the start of the fourth quarter.
Vikes’ Peterson, Allen Held Out of Practice
The Vikings have given running back Adrian Peterson and defensive end Jared Allen a break this week. Both missed practice Thursday for precautionary reasons. Peterson has a sprained left ankle and Allen has been bothered by a groin injury. Both are expected to play Sunday when the Vikings host Arizona at noon, pregame on WJON at 11am.

The Vikings face the 4-2 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday the Cardinals will play without quarterback Kevin Kolb. ESPN's Kevin Siefert is reporting that Kolb is expected to be out several weeks after he had multiple ribs detach from his sternum as well as suffering a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his chest area against the Bills this past Sunday, according to a team source. Kolb began the season as the backup to John Skelton but Skelton was injured in the first game and Kolb has been the quarterback for the Cardinals ever since.

Ahead 10-3 after three quarters, St. Louis (3-2) pulled away to a 14-point lead when Bradford connected with Chris Givens on a 51-yard touchdown pass with 11:49 to play. Arizona (4-1) had two fourth quarter drives stall inside the Rams' 20-yard line with less than 6 minutes remaining.
