The St. Cloud Apollo boys basketball team qualified for the Class 3A State tournament with a win Thursday night over Detroit Lakes. Senior guard Ibrahim Abukar had 17 points and 7 rebounds for the Eagles in the win. He is questionable to play Wednesday in the state quarterfinals because of an unselfish act he is about to do.

The St. Cloud Apollo Boys Basketball team defeated Detroit Lakes 68-41 in the section 83A finals at St. Cloud State Halenbeck Hall Thursday night to advance to the Class 3A State Tournament. The Eagles closed the first half with a 17-2 run and led 36-18 at halftime. Detroit Lakes got as close as 15 points back in the 2nd half and Apollo holds on. The Eagles were led by Blake Maslonkowski with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Ibrahim Abukar added 17 points and 7 rebounds.
