The St. Cloud Rox lost 9-4 at home against Willmar Tuesday night. The loss is the 10th straight for the Rox and they drop to 5-15 this season. Andy Henkemeyer went 2-4 with 1 RBI, Chris Paul was 2-5 with 1 RBI and Boo Vazquez went 2-5 with 1 run scored for the Rox. The St. Cloud Rox won 7-1 at Alexandria Thursday night for their 2nd straight win. Andy Henkemeyer hit a grand slam homerun for the Rox and Phil Imholte was 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBIs. Zach Hirsch threw 5 innings with 4 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win for the Rox. Tony Mollica threw 4 shutout to get the save for St. Cloud.

St. Cloud Rox Sign 8 Including Henkemeyer

The St. Cloud Rox signed 8 more players to play for the team this summer. Among the 8 is outfielder Andy Henkemeyer from Sauk Rapids. Henkemeyer is playing his college baseball for the Gophers. He was the Most Valuable River Bat last season in St. Cloud. He is joined by outfielder Boo Vasquez from the University of Pittsburg, catcher Adam Martin from Western Carolina, outfielder Jamie Simpson from Eastern Michigan and pitchers Paul Schaak of Eastern Michigan, Alex Roberts of Newberry College, Sergio Luna of Cal-State L.A. and Adam Maxon of Jacksonville University.

The St. Cloud River Bats defeated Mankato 6-4 Wednesday night in their first game back after the Northwoods League All Star break. St. Cloud scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and added 3 runs in the 9th inning. Andy Henkemeyer went 4-6 with a run scored, Derek Campbell added 2 hits and 3 RBIs and Michael Williams had 2 hits and 2 runs scored for St. Cloud. Jon Richard threw 6 innings with 2 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win for the Bats.

North Beats South In NWL All Star Game

The North beat the South 6-3 in the Northwoods League All Star game in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin Monday night. Dan Olinger of Brainerd had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI for the North. Andy Henkemeyer of the River Bats went 1-2 batting for the North and Mitch Garver did not play.

2 River Bats Play In NWL All Star Game Tonight

The Northwoods League All Star game will be played tonight at Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin at 7:05pm. Two St. Cloud River Bats will play for the North Division team tonight. The two are catcher Mitchell Garver and outfielder Andy Henkemeyer. Garver is hitting .290 with 4 homeruns and 21 RBIs and Henkemeyer is hitting .313 with no homeruns and 24 RBIs for the Bats this season.
