Twins Edge Cleveland in 12 Innings

The Twins scored 2 12th inning runs to win at Cleveland Tuesday night. Alexi Casilla and Pedro Florimon each had RBI singles in Minnesota's 2-run 12th. Tyler Robertson threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Glen Perkins threw the 12th innings with 1 earned run allowed to get the save. Cleveland downed the Twins 6-2 in Cleveland Wednesday to salvage the final game of the 3-game series and snap their 11-game losing streak. Brian Duensing allowed 11 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) in 7 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-7. Justin Masterson threw 7 innings with 3 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win. Alexi Casilla hit a 2-run homerun supplying the Twins with their only runs. Minnesota managed just 4 hits.

Angels Down Twins 4-3; Morneau Hurts Wrist

The Twins lost 4-3 in Anaheim to the Los Angeles Angels Monday night. Minnesota fell behind 4-0 before scoring 3 runs in the 8th inning but they came up short. Alexi Casilla went 3-4 with a run scored, 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases and Danny Valencia was 2-4 with 1 RBI for the Twins. The Twins activated 2nd baseman Alexi Casilla from the 15-day disabled list after the game Wednesday night and optioned infielder Trevor Plouffe to triple-A Rochester. Casilla has been out with a hamstring strain. Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire says the Twins will activate 1st baseman Justin Morneau off the 15-day disabled list Friday.
