Minnesota got a 31-yard field goal from Ryan Longwell with 2:43 left to break a 21-all tie with Carolina. The Panthers had a chance to tie the game with :26 left when Olindo Mare missed a 31-yard field goal wide left.

Adrian Peterson had a huge day for the Vikings with 3 first quarter touchdown runs. Peterson finished with 29 carries for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns. Donavan McNabb was 10-21 passing for 169 yards with a rushing score. Devin Aromashadu started for Bernard Berrian and had 2 catches for 81 yards. Berrian was healthy scratch.
