August 9, 2012 Viking head coach Leslie Frazier said Wednesday that running back Adrian Peterson is still on track to play when the regular season begins on September 9 at home against Jacksonville. Frazier says he'd like to see Peterson see action in practice and carries in a preseason game before he's cleared to play in the regular season.
August 7, 2012 Viking running back Adrian Peterson had his pretrial hearing in Houston, Texas moved to September 27. Prosecutors have agreed to push back the court date for Peterson to face a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge. The pretrial hearing as originally scheduled for July 13 and then moved to Monday. Attorney Rusty Hardin says hearings will now be held September 27 and November 15.
August 6, 2012 The Vikings have lost receiver Greg Childs for the season after he suffered a torn patella tendon in both knees Saturday night in a scrimmage at Minnesota State-Mankato. Childs season is over and career is in jeopardy. The 6'3 receiver ran a 4.39 40 at the combine but had a injury history in college at Arkansas. He was taken in the 4th round by the Vikings in the April draft.
July 31, 2012 Viking running back Adrian Peterson suffered an allergic reaction at lunch in Mankato Monday that sent him to a local hospital. Coach Leslie Frazier said Peterson ate some seafood that caused his face to swell and shortness of breath. An ambulance was called and Peterson was diagnosed with a allergic reaction at the hospital.
July 10, 2012 Viking running back Adrian Peterson's attorney says he was a victim and a charge of resisting arrest is a "fabrication." Texas attorney Rusty Hardin released a statement Monday, two days after Peterson was released from a Houston jail. Peterson was arrested shortly after 2am Saturday and charged with resisting arrest after he allegedly pushed a off-duty police officer who was working security at the night club.

July 8, 2012 Viking running back Adrian Peterson was arrested in Houston, Texas for resisting arrest and for alledgedly pushing a police officer. Peterson was at a bar early Saturday morning and refused to leave when all patrons were asked to do so. He got into an argument with a police officer and was tackled to the ground after he alledgedly pushed an officer.
December 25, 2011 Viking running back Adrian Peterson suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee in the 3rd quarter when he took a hit directly to his knee. Peterson knew immediately it was a severe injury but managed to leave the field with help from the training staff. He was then carted to the locker room.
December 20, 2011 Viking running back Adrian Peterson claimed the New Orleans Saints were intentionally trying to re-injure his left ankle in Sunday's game. Peterson had missed the previous 3 games with a high ankle sprain in his left ankle. Peterson said he expected the Saints defenders to go after his ankle.

Drew Brees threw for 412 yards and 5 touchdowns for New Orleans. Christian Ponder was 14-31 passing for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. Adrian Peterson ran 10 times for 60 yards after missing 3 games with a high ankle sprain in his left ankle.
