ST. PAUL - Ryan Suter picked up his first career hat-trick as the Minnesota Wild downed the Washington Capitals 5-3 on Saturday night.

Suter scored twice in the second period and completed the hat trick with 12:23 to play in the third. The last hat trick for a Wild player was Chuck Kobasew back in November of 2009.

The Wild struck back and scored four goals in the second period after being down 2-0. Nino Niederreiter and Jason Zucker also netted goals for Minnesota.

The Wild are currently 22-17-5 this season. They look to continue their winning ways when the travel to take on the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night. Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m. central time.
