St. Cloud Rox Down Mankato 14-8

The St. Cloud Rox downed Mankato 14-8 Sunday to get back to 500 in the 2nd half of the Northwoods League season.  St. Cloud scored 4 runs in the 4th inning, had 2 runs in the 6th inning and chipped in 3 more runs in the 7th.  Tony Skjefte was 3-6 with a homerun, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs and Phil Imholte hit a 2-run homerun and had 3 RBIs for the Rox.  Chris Paul added 2 hits and 2 RBIs for St. Cloud.

Billy Soule threw 6 2/3 innings with 7 hits and 6 runs (3 earned) allowed to get the win.  St. Cloud committed 3 errors in the game.

The Rox are 6-6 in the 2nd half of the season and in 5th place in the 2nd half North Division standings just 1 1/2 games back of Willmar for first place in the 2nd half North Division standings. The Rox host Mankato at 7:05 tonight, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:35.  It's Rox baseball giveaway night tonight. The first 250 kids 12 and under get a Rox baseball.
