RAPID CITY, S.D. -- The St. Cloud State women's basketball team begin the 2014-2015 season 2-0 after beating the South Dakota School of Mines Hardrockers last night, 53-55.

The Huskies shot only 34% from the field, but were able to clamp down defensively, notching 16 steals and 33 rebounds.

Guard Betsy McDonald scored a game-high 20 points and forward Lexy Petermann tallied 10 points and seven rebounds.

The 2-0 Huskies will host Jamestown College today (Sunday) at 2:00 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.
