DULUTH -- The St. Cloud State women's basketball team was handed their first loss of the season - a 75-74 heartbreaker to UMD on Saturday.

The game was close throughout as the Bulldogs (who at the time were 4-5 on the season) stuck with the Huskies despite committing 20 turnovers.

SCSU was led by Chelsea Nooker who scored 22 points and Lexy Petermann and Betsy MacDonald each added 14.

But the Bulldogs' Taylor Meyer was nearly unstoppable - finishing with a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds.

The one-point loss was disappointing for the Huskies, as they beat UMD 81-67 earlier this season.

With the loss, the 8-1 Huskies will look to bounce back against Mayville on December 30th.
