DULUTH -- The St. Cloud State University men's hockey snapped a two-game losing streak with an exciting 2-1 victory over Minnesota Duluth last (Friday) night.

The Huskies grabbed an early 1-0 lead with a goal by freshmen defender Jack Ahcan. Ahcan also posted the game winner for his fourth goal of the season.

SCSU goalie Jeff Smith was impressive throughout the evening recording 41 saves, the most charted by a SCSU goalie since Charlie Lindgren had 45 against Omaha in a 2-1 win in OT on March 13, 2015.

The huskies move to 10-10-1 overall, 5-7-1 NCHC. Both teams face off tonight (Saturday) for game two of the weekend series.  The game starts at 7:07 p.m.  SCSU fans can listen to the game live on REV 96.7 FM with Jim Erickson on the call.
