SCSU Men and Women Advance In NSIC Tourney

The SCSU men’s and women’s basketball teams each posted wins in the opening round of the NSIC basketball tournament Wednesday night.

The SCSU women’s basketball team opened the doubleheader with a 72-47 win over Southwest Minnesota State. Junior guard Sam Price led the Huskies with 19 points.

The Huskies will host Winona State University in the second round on Saturday afternoon.

The men finished the doubleheader sweep with a 95-90 win over Concordia at Halenbeck Hall. Sophomore Kevin Levandoski paced the Huskies with 30 points in the win.

SCSU will host Upper Iowa for a quarterfinal matchup on Saturday at Halenbeck.
