St. Cloud State President Earl Potter confirmed at a press conference today that SCSU will accept the invitation of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference and join when the conference starts play in the 2013-2014 season.  SCSU has spent the last 22 seasons in the WCHA and will spend two more years in the WCHA before leaving.  St. Cloud State President Earl Potter said the decision was tough to leave the conference but is was the best move for the University.

SCSU head coach Bob Motzko says they are excited about the move and are happy to maintain the rivalries with North Dakota, MN-Duluth, Colorado College, Denver and Nebraska-Omaha.  The NCHC will also consist of Miami-Ohio and Western Michigan.
