SOUIX FALLS, S.D. -- The St. Cloud State men's and women's basketball teams concluded their weekend tour of the southwest corner of the state with match-ups against the University of Souix Falls on Saturday.

SCSU MEN TRIUMPH OVER SOUIX FALLS

The Huskies did not shoot particularly well from the field, but efficiency from beyond the arc and at the free-throw line led to a 76-61 victory over the University of Souix Falls.

Despite being outshot by USF (51 percent to 43 percent), the Huskies hit 10 of 21 three pointers and converted on 18 of their 21 free throw attempts.

SCSU was led in scoring by Jordan Poydras, who scored 21 points - including going 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Scottie Stone scored 16 points and Donnell Cegers added 19 off the bench to help in the victory.

With the win, SCSU improves to 13-9 on the season as the Huskies have won four of their past five games.  The Huskies will host Winona State next weekend.

POOR START LEADS TO LOSS FOR SCSU WOMEN

The Huskies fell behind by 18 in the first half and could not recover, as SCSU falls to the University of Souix Falls 71-48.

The Huskies simply could not get anything going offensively - shooting only 27 percent from the field in the loss.

Chelsea Nooker was one of the few bright spots, as the sophomore finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.

It was a game to forget for SCSU though, as the Huskies missed half of their free throw attempts and hit on only four of their 20 three pointers.

The loss drops the Huskies to 12-8 on the season and will host Winona State next weekend.
