ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud State men's and women's basketball teams each got important wins over the Bemidji State Beavers Saturday night.

MEN'S BASKETBALL WINS IN BLOWOUT

The Huskies capped off a winning weekend by beating Bemidji State 80-55 last night.

The game was never in doubt, as SCSU led by 20 at halftime en route to the 25-point route of the Beavers.

Jordan Poydras again led the Huskies in scoring with 23 points and added eight rebounds and four steals.

Scottie Stone scored 16 points and Donnell Cegers added 10 off the bench for SCSU.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 9-7 on the season and will hope to continue their winning ways on Friday against Augustana.

WOMEN'S TEAM SNAPS LOSING STREAK

The SCSU women's basketball team ended their four-game skid with a big 61-55 win over Bemidji State last night.

After trailing by nine at the half, the Huskies surged in the second half to outscore the Beavers 40-25 the rest of the game.

Lexy Petermann notched a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds and Chelsea Nooker added 13 of her own to lead SCSU to the victory.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 10-4 on the season and will host Augustana on Friday.
