The Sartell Sabers and Rodgers Royals kicked off their 2015 season on a gloomy and windy day in Rodgers, Minnesota. The Royals used a heavy rushing attack propelling them to a 14-7 victory. Both teams struggled in the first quarter, stalling out on a handful of drives. It was in the second quarter when Rodgers got on the board with a four yard touchdown run from Alec Kasper.

Kasper had a big day rushing for 181 yards on 22 carries. Sartell would not get on the board until midway through the fourth quarter when John Schmidt broke the pylon for a 3-yard TD run. Other then that, Sartell had a tough time on offense throwing two interceptions. With the loss, Sartell falls to 0-1 on the season and will be back at home next Friday to host St. Cloud Tech.
