INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Minnesota senior center Ralph Sampson III may miss this afternoon's Big Ten Tournament opener because of a knee injury.

Coach Tubby Smith announced Wednesday, Sampson "tweaked" his knee in practice this week.  He has not practiced for two days.

If Sampson can't play, freshman Elliott Eliason would get the start.

The Gophers take on Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. today.
