The Buffalo Sabres topped the Minnesota Wild 3-2 Monday night at Xcel Energy Center to open the 2015 preseason schedule.

Jared Spurgeon scored at 13:12 of the first period to give the Wild a 1-0 lead, but Buffalo tied the game five minutes later on a Nicolas Deslauriers goal.

Mikael Granlund scored on the power play halfway through the second period to give Minnesota a 2-1 lead heading into the third period, with assists given to Ryan Suter and Zach Parise.

However, the Sabres struck twice in the third period, including a short-handed goal from Jack Eichel that broke a 2-2 tie at the 5:54 mark.

The Wild play Tuesday night at Winnipeg. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on AM 1390 The Fan, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m.
