The Kansas City Royals' bats came to life in a 9-3 shellacking of the Twins Friday night at Target Field. The Twins had ten hits in the game but were just 3-10 with runners in scoring position.

Eight of the Royals runs were scored via home runs. Eric Hosmer had a pair of dingers, with Billy Butler and Mike Moustakas also going deep for Kansas City.

PJ Walters struggled for a second straight start, allowing six Royals runs in just three innings of work. Walters failed to get out of the first inning in his previous start.

Clete Thomas, Justin Morneau and Brian Dozier each had a pair of hits for the Twins in the loss.
