The Rox beat the Alexandria Blue Anchors 4-3 Friday night in dramatic fashion at Joe Faber Field. The Rox are now 10-6 in the second half of the season and continue to trail Waterloo by 3.5 games.

The Rox trailed 3-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh, when they strung together four singles to tie the game at three.

After a dominant inning by reliever Reese Gregory, St. Cloud rallied for the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. After a double play, Clay Williamson singled and stole second base. Catcher Dan Comstock walked, bringing to the plate Adam Martin.

Martin, who has missed the past handful of games with strep throat, entered the game as a defensive replacement in the eighth inning in place of Luke Weber. After a big swing and a miss and a couple of foul balls, the right-handed batter served a base hit into right field to score Williamson and earn the Rox the win.
