The Rox waited out an hour long rain delay, then defeated the Rochester Honkers 9-5 Monday night at Mayo Field. The win puts the Rox within two games of first place with just five games left in the regular season.

Clay Ardeeser led the Rox offense with three hit including a solo home run and a pair of runs scored, while Morgan Phillips was 2-2 with three runs batted in.

Trevor Charpie earned the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.

The Northwoods League returns to action Wednesday after tonight’s prospect showcase game in Madison.
