Really? Is Everything a Friendly Reminder?

We all get these emails from people, right? They always start with, “Just a friendly reminder” or “Just a friendly note to say…” Why do people feel the need to start emails this way?

When I see this I always think, this person is trying their hardest to come across really polite but in reality is saying, “Remember you need to do something for me, you dumbass!” or “I have something really mean to say but I don’t want to come across like an a$$hole so I’m going to start this email with a lame-ass line instead.”

I would actually prefer people just stated their business. I could at least respect that over the “friendly reminder” crap.
