ST. CLOUD -- It was an exciting game in St. Cloud last (Friday) night as the Rox beat the Rockford Rivets 7-6 to stay at the top of the Northwoods League standings.

Rockford took an early 1-0 lead but the Rox answered quickly as Michael Strem drove in two runs with a double in the first inning.

The scoring went back and forth all night with five lead changes including the Rivets taking the lead again in the seventh.

But St. Cloud wasn't done yet as Brett Pope delivered a two-run single to seal the victory for the Rox.

The Rox hold a half-game lead in the second half standings and a three game lead in the overall standings with just 17 games remaining in the season.

St. Cloud will continue their home stand tonight (Saturday) as they host the Thunder Bay Border Cats. First pitch is set at 6:05 p.m.
