The Penguins beat the Wild 3-2 in overtime Thursday night at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

The Wild’s Thomas Vanek answered a first period Penguins goal with a goal at :33 of the second period to tie the game at one. Zach Parise scored at 7:12 of the third period to give the Wild a 2-1 lead, but Pittsburgh answered just :14 later to tie the game at two.

The Penguins scored halfway through the overtime period to earn the win.

Darcy Kuemper got the start at goalie for Minnesota and made 14 saves on 15 shots over two periods of play. Illya Bryzgalov played the third period and overtime, making ten saves on 12 shots.

The Wild host Winnipeg Saturday night.
