Nolasco Snubbed In Cy Young Voting For Second Straight Season

For a second straight season Twins starter Ricky Nolasco was snubbed when it came to voting for the American League Cy Young Award. Astros starter Dallas Kuechel took home the trophy.

Nolasco, renowned for his durability and positive attitude, came to the Twins on a bargain contract before the 2014 season. In his first year with Minnesota Nolasco struck out OVER A HUNDRED batters, but somehow that wasn't good enough for the biased sportswriters voting on the award.

This season, Nolasco was truly one of the game's iron men, posting 37 innings on the season and striking out 35 batters in the process. The righthander was 5-2 this season, meaning he won TWICE AS MANY games as he lost. Somehow, this was lost on the very people tasked with recognizing such feats.

In two seasons with the Twins Nolasco has struck out 150 batters. Think about that for a second- he has struck out 150 of the best baseball players on Earth, guys who get paid a lot of money to hit a baseball! All while earning a paltry $28 million dollars to do so.

And to top it off, we are talking about a man with a broken heart, miles away from the land he loves, forcibly taken away from his home to spend his summers in a strange land!

In my opinion, Nolasco is not only worthy of the past two Cy Young Awards, but he should be able to live in Los Angeles and fly in only for the days he must pitch for the Twins.
