ST. CLOUD -  Thousands of St. Cloud State hockey fans are getting a chance to see the Julie and Spencer Penrose Memorial Cup up-close this weekend at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

The Cup will be awarded to the NCHC's regular-season champion.

The Penrose Cup is being featured during both the Friday and Saturday night games against the University of North Dakota. The Huskies are currently tied with UND at the top of the NCHC standings.

Fans are encouraged to pose for a photo with the Cup throughout the weekend series, but will not be allowed to touch it. The Cup will be in the main concourse lobby from 6:00 p.m. to five minutes into the third period during both games.

The Cup is named after Julie and Spencer Penrose, a business couple who were the backbone for hockey in Colorado Springs in the early 1990's.
