The line snaked out the door of the Municipal Athletic Complex Wednesday an hour before the scheduled start of the Minnesota Wild Road Tour. Former Wild forward Wes Walz joined current players Charlie Coyle and Jason Zucker to greet fans and sign autographs.

Walz said that signing goalie Niklas Backstrom was priority number one for the Wild this offseason.

Now that Minnesota has their veteran goaltender locked up with a multi-year deal, the focus falls to re-signing former SCSU center Matt Cullen.

As good as Cullen has been on the ice for the Wild, it could be argued he is even more valuable off the ice as a veteran leader on a very young team. Both Zucker and Coyle were both quick to name Cullen as a veteran they were comfortable going to with questions about the game or about life in general.

Zucker says having Cullen around was doubly beneficial to him, as he was able to play on the same line with the veteran as well.
