The Twins Winter Caravan made its annual stop in St. Cloud on Tuesday night, with Joe Mauer, Trevor Plouffe, Bert Blyleven, Tony Oliva and Jordan Schaefer all making the trip.

Mauer said it had "been a while" since he was last in St. Cloud, but added that he has many fond memories of "battles" with Waite Park during his younger days.

"I played a lot of ballgames in the area, and it's good to be back," Mauer said.

"We used to have some battles with Waite Park,"  Mauer said. "Josh Krogman, back in the day, they had some good teams at Waite Park. I remember coming up (to St. Cloud) and playing against him a lot before getting to know him a bit when he played at the University of Minnesota."

Bert Blyleven said he has been to St. Cloud a handful of times with the Twins Winter Caravan, but only was in town once prior to that- to see a buddy pitch for the original St. Cloud Rox, who at the time were a Twins minor league affiliate.

"The only time I was here actually was in 1971, when Jim Hughes pitched in St. Cloud," Blyleven said. "By the time I got to town he was knocked out of the game in the first inning."
