SAUK RAPIDS -- The Granite City Lumberjacks disposed of the Alexandria Blizzard despite collecting an uncharacteristic amount of penalties.

The Lumberjacks' penalty kill saved the game as they did not allow a goal to the Blizzard despite their having five chances to do so.

Alexandria goalie Tanner Elmore made 27 saves, but was constantly peppered with shots by Granite City (31 for the game).

The Lumberjacks were led offensively by Zach Voss, who scored goals in the first two periods.

Granite City goalie Jesse Garcia stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced.

With the victory, the Lumberjacks improve to 3-0 on the season and travel to take on the Twin City Steel on Friday.
