Long Sleeves over Bikinis in the 2012 Games?

The 2012 London Olympic Games will be underway in two days.

Fans from all over the world will be cheering on their countries’ athletes.

Many will watch in awe as Gold medals are distributed and history is made.

The London Games might appear to be a little different than most.

If you’re a beach volleyball fan like me, you may be in for a surprise.

The London weather has a large impact on what women will wear.  The typical bikini look may be replaced with warmer clothing.  According to Yahoo! Sports, the forecast for London next week “calls for highs in the 60s, with up to a 30% chance of rain.” Volleyball players may be asked to cover up.

According to therepublic.com, Australian competitor, Tamsin Hinchley said Sunday, “We need to keep our muscles warm.  It’s an extremely strenuous sport.”

If the weather is warm, volleyball players will wear their typical uniforms.

Whether it’s long sleeves, or bikinis, Olympic fans can count on one thing:  players will still put on a good show.
