Sam Deduno melted down in the eleventh inning and the Twins fell to the White Sox 7-6 in Chicago Wednesday afternoon. The Twins have lost the first two games of their series with the Sox, with game three scheduled for Thursday (1:10, WJON).

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe was 3-5 with three runs batted in, and Kurt Suzuki had another strong day at the plate with three hits in six at-bats to pace the Twins offense.

Kevin Corriea started for the Twins and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings. Correia was not sent out to start the seventh inning despite only having thrown 82 pitches because of a five minute delay for a replay review and multiple Chicago pitching changes.

The Twins led the game 6-4 going into the ninth inning when closer Glen Perkins entered the game. Paul Konerko started the Chicago rally with a pinch hit single to right before being lifted for pinch runner Adrain Nieto.

Perkins struck Alexi Ramirez out looking, but Dayan Viciedo followed with a single to put runners on second and third with one out.

Chicago second baseman Leury Garcia drove home Nieto with a single to make the score 6-5. After a wild pitch, the Sox tied the game on a fielder’s choice groundout and sent the game to extra innings.

Sam Deduno entered the game in the eleventh inning and allowed a bunt single to leadoff man Garcia. Deduno then was called for a balk that allowed the Sox a baserunner on second base with no one out.

Deduno induced a strikeout from Adam Eaton, but also threw a wild pitch that allowed Garcia to advance to third base.

After another strikeout and an intentional walk, Deduno threw another wild pitch that resulted in Garcia scoring and securing the win for Chicago.
