COLLEGEVILLE -- St. John's took an eight-point first half lead and never looked back en route to a 74-61 victory over Bethel on Saturday.

Three starters finished in double figures for the Johnnies, with Alex Schmitt scoring 12 points and Joe Reisner and Tyler Weiss each adding 10.

The difference in the game was the Johnnies bench - who scored 34 points as a whole, highlighted by Jacob Peterson's team-high 14.

Bethel's Kyle Zimmerman had a huge game (24 points, 14 rebounds), but the rest of the Royals could not get anything going against the Johnnies' defense.

With the win, the Johnnies improve to 9-5 in the MIAC and 11-8 overall. St. John's will next travel to Hamline tomorrow night.
