Johnnies Beat Huskies 70-65

The St. John's basketball team downed St. Cloud State 70-65 Monday night in both team's season opener.

The win for the Johnnies at home is their first against the Huskies since November of 1983.

Sam Blank led the Johnnies with 18 points and Aaron Barmore added 14 points.  St. Cloud State was led by Brett Putz with 20 points and Taylor Witt added 13 points.

SCSU will play in a tournament in Phoenix, Arizona starting Friday against Cal-State Dominguez Hills and St. John's will play at UW-Stevens Point Saturday.
